This role falls under the broader category of computer operators. A digital computer operator is a technician responsible for monitoring and controlling computers, their peripherals and various other types of electronic data processing equipment. The operator is in charge of setting up the computer and its peripheral devices to run properly.
A Digital Computer Operator is responsible for managing computer resources efficiently and provide a maximum response. They analyze and rectify hardware, software any other issues related to operations and network. The operator job role includes the operation of performance consoles, printers, tap drives, disk drives. They also provide technical and operational support for the Wide Area and Local Area Networks.
